Oh that SCENE. I cry every time.

God, stupid disqus shut down in the middle of my comment, and I couldn't edit. Anyway, continuing: expectations are met, or he is overwhelmed. Again, thank you for your story, I wish you all the happiness in the world.

This was a wonderful post to read, thank you. My own son was diagnosed with ASD at 5 years old, and it is really frustrating when autism or Aspergers are treated as one thing amd one thing only. He is much different from the other little boy in his class with ASD, and your story shows me the way he might actually feel

I love PBS, but I have noticed that recently Nova has gone downhill. It is starting to look like a Discovery channel show, what with the bombastic narration and intrusive music to make things "exciting", and the maybe ten minutes of information stretched out to an hour. They are even starting to repeat graphics and

@overthinker, exactly. I once spent a summer working with a crap ton of people from the UK, and by the end, sounded just as bizarre as Cora. And that was just one summer.

Matt Bomer would like to have a word with you.

@The Guilty Party, the pastor at my wedding actually kicked things off with "Mawwiage". He was too embarrassed to do any more, but it made everybody laugh anyway. Highly recommended.

His little hoist of the skirts before he sits in the chair is perfect, isn't it? I laugh every time, and I've seen this movie too many times to count.

The guy in the middle looks like my 7 year old when he doesn't want to do his homework. Nice grumpy face, dude, but I ain't buyin' it.

Okay, but throw in "Cathedrals" by Raymond Carver.

That was such an Asperger's thing to say. My son doesn't get stuff like that, either, and the phrase, "That doesn't make any sense," is heard almost daily around here.

In my family, we all would watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail, every single year. This has led to my entire family being able to pretty much narrate the whole movie from beginning to end. There is also the yearly guys vs. gals game of Trivial Pursuit (original Genus edition, which leads to some interesting

I got the surprise call that my dad had died, and my husband answered it. They just told him, "Don't leave her alone," and when he handed me the phone, I knew something had to be strange. Not an experience I would wish on anyone. Made me skittish of the phone for a long time.
