My daughter is nearly 10 and I already tell her that we all use bad judgment sometimes and I will always come to her aid and I will always be her advocate and I am the president of #TeamDaughter.

I say this now so that if she does end up in a bad situation, she will (I hope) remember that I’m on her side always.

It’s been 22 years for me, and while I remember my rape, I remember it in bits and pieces, like flashes almost. One of the things I remember very clearly is that while it was happening I thought, “This is going to hurt Mom so much.”

So I never told her. I was pretty sure she’d have freaked out and wanted me to come

While I do think that’s a part of the story that should be discussed (because abuse fucks a person up), it’s not an excuse, and the two thinga aren’t mutually exclusive. That is to say, it doesn’t negate any of he conclusions made in the Stranger article (or elsewhere). Her shit is fucked up and not ok.

Beautiful voice. Adorable face. Stupid hair.

Isn’t the entire point of your job to figure out how to do stuff like move your employees around without having to forcibly remove paying customers?
I mean, if you can’t do that then nobody should be paying you, probably.

Anything else I can do to help United as a passenger? Maybe break out my torque wrench and tighten those lugs on the fuselage before I board?

Good job at being a shit human being there buddy.

Airlines not being able to staff their planes is the fault of the customer? Fuck you.

You know in other industries the people who work logistics manage it so their customers and their staff are not competing for the same limited resource. Deduct staff seating before selling seats and only sell as many seats as there are left on the plane. What you wrote is dumb and you should not feel smart for having

As someone working airline logistics, you should do your fucking job so these situations get avoided in the first place.

So beating people up for their seats is worth a canceled flight, or the inabilty to plan ahead and not over book and let that still happen and beat up someone is still worth a canceled flight?

As a paying customer of an airline, it is not my responsibility to make sure the airline has their bases covered. Give me a break.

Maybe the airlines should do a better job of managing their own goddamn logistics? Ever think of that maybe?

You actually took the time to write that. This comment really happened.

As a passenger, I hope people remember that airlines need to manage their own shit and not ask paying passengers to do it for them.

Look, the Cannon Club was practicing for regionals, and Fort Sumter happened to be in the way.

He’s right: the Civil War was unnecessary. The South didn’t need to use slave labor and could have abolished it. The South didn’t need to form and army or an ad hoc government. They didn’t need to make a terribly backed currency or try and be an independent country.

At least this way viewers can make their own endings. I’ve got Dr. Foster and Nurse Phinney (who recovered completely) living happily ever after, Samuel Diggs and Charlotte Jenkins falling in love and fighting Jim Crow together, and Dr. Hale and Nurse Hastings starting their own exclusive, hospital for rich people

I definitely watched. Ted Mosbius (because it was clearly him and not Ted Mosby) was always fun to watch roleplay. I just needed 1 more hit. I should have known it would be shut down with AnnaSophia Robb in it. Major bummer! If Finding Your Roots is off PBS for good too I don’t know how I’ll go on. I swear I keep my

Let’s call and tell them we suspend membership until we get more! (Maybe we were the only two watching?)
