Sons of Anarchy used "twat" a bunch, but wasn't allowed to say "fuck." (Every time something bad happened, someone would use the curse "Jesus!" instead.)

I'm in the same boat, almost exactly, and agree 100%. I'm enjoying Leviathon Wakes but I was surprised that I thought all the changes the show made (like making it Holden's choice to respond to the Scopuli's distress signal) were for the better. The exceptions are the action scenes, where the show usually has to

Yup. Like a few of the other commenters, it's my all-time favorite game ever.

I really liked Stretch, thought Chris Pine's OTT-insanity was funny, thought it was full of other funny moments like Jason Mantzoukas' bouncer character legitimately wanting to hang out because all his friends were married — but damn, you're right, in retrospect I bet a lot of it fits in with that whole "red pill"

Post-Snart?

The bit with the ex-principal where they established that his attack on the students WAS predatory because there was a video of him hiding in the bushes saying "Here comes my prey," had me doubled over laughing.

I agree with all this. It actually reminded me of the Thrilling Adventure Hour, which I have the exact same feelings about.

The Teacher's Lounge is incredibly funny. If you ever resubscribe, give that a try.

Great actor, great Random Roles. Glad he brought up Hap and Leonard, his craziness in the second half of that season was so entertaining.

Bill Burr has called Hilary Clinton "literally the devil" over and over again. He seems to be doing okay.

Wow, does that bring back some very aggravating memories of David Cross complaining about barrels.

I think the Manhunter / Silence of the Lambs analogy is a good one. Redemption may have been billed as a sequel, but I think it would be more accurate to call it a 'spiritual successor,' if that distinction means anything at all. It's maybe a little odd that the original is rarely mentioned, but Revolver and

Was there someone new this week, after Dorian Missick and C Thomas Howell last week?

Oh hey, if Jay met Christina's rapist it'd be a Black Donnelly's reunion.

I like that they're populating the recurring cast with Southland actors.

Please give an example of the dialogue that you found so egregious.

Thank you for this! I listen on my laptop and the player on the website is super annoying. Being able to download them is much better.

I don't feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for myself, because I'm the one who watched such a once-good show tank so badly in its final stretch. I'm surprised to see someone defend that atrocious voicemail business.

Nailed it. As a 7-year-old who was obsessed basketball, I must have watched the VHS maybe 100 times.

I really don't agree with the general critical reception to this season, on the AVclub and elsewhere. I think the show has been pretty terrible for a long time, that it has butchered virtually all of its characters, and now it's limping to the finish line.
