I’ve been putting off everything on my ‘97 540i because I bought it with the intent to LS swap it. But at this point the oil leaks and misfires are so bad that the car is undrivable and I haven’t even started building the new engine.

Unless you’ve driven one of these, it’s way slower than you think it is. The 2.5 YZ and XJ struggle just to maintain the speed limit.

Automatic transmissions are the only thing I’ve ever completely disassembled and still had no clue how they work.  They really are black magic.

They also get more sensitive as they get old.  So if yours goes off more than it used to, replacing it might help.
