It’s rare that I have to parallel park and I’m pretty good at it. But I do back out of a 50 yard driveway and before I figured out how to turn off the park-mirror, I’d have to stick my head out the window in the rain, snow, sleet, or hail.

The park-mirror on my ‘98 BMW can be disabled by leaving the mirror adjust selector on the passenger side setting. As I understand, this is universal to all their models.

David, I found and removed this infernal device this evening. The difference is night and day. It’s a joy to drive now. GM invented Skip-Shift but BMW took driver annoyance to 11 with this awful thing. If shifting is sex, the clutch delay valve is a condom.
