Regardless of how you feel about Ms. Manning’s actions, her treatment since then has been awful and I think that this is not a bad thing, especially given the treatment she might have received during Trump’s reign.

Her sentence was the longest sentence for any leaker, ever. Yes, the leak was huge, but as the NY Times points out, none of the material was classified as Top Secret.

I applaud the Obama administration for this move. She has suffered enough, that’s become extremely apparent. I doubt she would have survived another year or two, let alone the remaining thirty years of her sentence.
