Lots of phone calls—constant phone calls—completely changes the atmosphere of a congressional office. It also means that the GOP staffers in a given office do not have time to attend to trying to craft more policy to ruin our lives because they are ALWAYS on the phone.

One of my favorite moments from the march I attended in TN:

I wish I had! It was posted on a site w/ signs women were making for their marches.

Obama just left Trump a note and left the Oval Office for the last time.

I respect your skepticism. The Democratic party has a history of being a bunch of wafflers—or letting their concern with compromise override an accurate perception of the fact that the opposing party will never compromise with them.

The GOP has all the power right now. But the Democrats can make exercising that power extremely politically uncomfortable. They can make every action a referendum on Trump and a referendum on the GOP. That’s what they are doing. And it’s important. Even if the GOP gets everything they want—the Democrats will be on the

Thank you, Obama.

Agreed! My mother, who is liberal, has sworn off visiting with all of her suburban relatives for this reason.

God yes. I had active tuberculosis this year which rotted out half of my upper right lung. Perfect analogy for 2016. (And i’d still rather have TB).

I feel the same. I lived in Europe through much of 2002-2005 and I felt a deep shame at being American. When Obama was inaugurated in 2009 and he spoke to the American people, I felt, for the first time in my life, what it was like to be proud of the person who would lead my country. Even when I have disagreed with

Meanwhile, Obama with Merkel. . . .

Thank you for calling! I keep trying to tell everyone I know that we have to call constantly to voice our opinions. Constant calling really does change the lives of congressional staffers (if we succeed in doing it en masse) & changes the environments of their offices and what they can get done.
