Has anyone looked at the income and wealth disparity in Vermont recently? Seems like a place riddled with the haves and the have nots. Perhaps Bernie should concentrate on his own back yard before we trust him to lead us all. Next!

Same goes for Biden. There is certainly wisdom that comes with age and experience, but the country needs fresh leadership.
He isn’t getting better because he is 100 years old.
I think it’s too early for me to really know my top contender, but I’m mostly feeling #nooldwhitemen2020. We’ve had enough to last us for the next 200 years.
Because he’s a Jewish man from 1940s Brooklyn. Source: so is my dad. Their heart is in the right place but at the end of the day they have no idea what they’re talking about.
Every college student in the nation would like to key your car, along with about 25% of faculty. Feck off ya snob.
Thanks. Also fuck off. If I’m working from home and my daughter calls me puking from school I’m not going to stop and change into a smart pantsuit to go pick her up. If I’m wearing my pajama pants and t-shirt (my standard uniform) I’m leaving in that. It’s the beauty of being a grown ass woman...you don’t get to…
I’m an elementary school teacher at a very diverse school. No way in hell would I ever enforce this code. We have a hard enough time engaging with parents and I will take any chance to meet and talk with them and show them the positive atmosphere my school provides for their children. I fully understand that getting…
Exactly. It’s extremely fucking classist. Some parents might not give a shit but imagine being one that can’t afford business casual or whatever the fuck else the school tries to enforce. Parents have enough to worry about when it comes to their kids being bullied and ostracised and judged superficially without being…
Why aren’t leggings and yoga pants out?Why not disallow wet hair if bonnets and caps aren’t allowed? Why not disallow flip flops or exercise clothing?
Unless it’s for safety - dress codes are restrictions of personal freedom and shouldn’t be allowed IMO. “Approriate” dress is dictated by rich, conservative people and it needs to stop. Beyond racism, they’re also classist.
If the goal is to encourage students to take pride in their appearance, shaming their parents is the exact opposite way to achieve that.
It should maybe be like church: encourage people to dress well out of respect, but accept everyone as they are and be glad they’re there. I agree with the principal that parents are a child’s first teacher, but damned if you shouldn’t be thrilled they are present and participating, no matter the circumstances of their…
Bird paid around $40,000 for the release of 1,800 scooters in November, and the company says in the suits that Scooter Removal currently has around 2,500 of Bird scooters and 1,300 Lime scooters in its possession and is demanding tens of thousands of dollars for their return.
When I was in France, they had those rental bikes that I see here in NA at times. that solution worked really well. It was tied to your phone I think so you had to “unlock” them via your phone. but the stations to pick-up/drop-off the bikes were pretty convenient. Sure, you had to walk a bit to get to the closest one.…
I live across the street from an assisted living facility and these things litter the sidewalks around us. Because of the scooters, the people who are mobility chairs and the handicapped can’t get to the store that is only one block away. All because the users are inconsiderate assholes and just dump the scooters…
To see Lime and Bird complaining about another company doing their work for them is more than just faintly amusing to me.
Nope, but 100% Hertz will pass the cost of that ticket onto the renter. The scooter companies cannot stand an additional $20 on top of their own fees getting pushed to customers.
why don’t cities mandate the scooter companies install designated “scooter drop-off sites”, essentially like bike racks? make them install two racks for every scooter they put on the street - hell, these could even be loaded with some sort of sensor that communicates with an app to help people find the nearest scooter.
