So basically he bought the Mavs with as much thought and planning as a guy in the middle of a mid life crisis cashing in his 401k and buying a dive bar because it was his dream when he was 20.

Has anyone written a piece on why Fred VanVleet went undrafted? Because when I watch him play, I don’t really understand how the hell that happened. He fills in all the holes, plays with tons of confidence, two-way, the whole thing. I don’t understand how guys like this can’t get a sniff in the mid-second round but…

This year feels different, in that every year we are going to the playoffs, you hope for some success, and just pray to avoid a first-round exit, but know that 1-2 rounds of victory is our ceiling. This year, there’s legitimate potential to reach the finals, and something like a first-round exit would hurt 10000%…

I usually post snappy comments on Deadspin but I love this Raptors team and thank you (collectively) for writing about them more often.

I saw Van Vleet standing in line ordering an A&W burger a block from the ACC, and nobody batted an eye. He just looks like a normal 6 foot dude in sweats. Even guys sitting at the table next to me in raptors jerseys didnt notice him.
