Here’s the thing though, the progressive viewers just don’t watch TV the way conservative viewers do. Progressive Viewers, young or older bloc, are mostly getting their news through web clips or articles, facebook or other news aggregators (like Gawker, for example.)

I’m still convinced this thing was made five or six years ago and the studio only remembered it existed when they realized they needed to fill in a gap in their February schedule.

Well, they are, to some extent. There's a large overlap, but certainly black people have to deal with concerns stemming from systemic racism that white people simply don't have to deal with. I don't know how any reasonable person could argue that that isn't the case.

Only disingenuous morons think that BLM means black lives matter more. Anyone with a 7th grade level of critical thinking and understanding can typically parse out that they’re referring to the steaming pile of shit that’s been the black “condition” in a nation that’s allegedly free.

I know you’re trying to vindicate

Probably true. But the people who wrote All Lives Matter will probably not be satisfied with competing (or complementry, even) messages. They’re interested in silencing the message of others.

I’d say crossing out a plea for racial justice and substituting your own take is a racist act.

“Are they really asking/demanding that police not arrest criminals who happen to be black?”

The person to whom I’m responding is very obviously trolling. I’m not going to engage that any more than simply making it known that this person is trolling, they are wrong, and their opinions on this story aren’t valuable or worth reading.

Like walking into a store and not have to be followed by employees suspecting you to shoplift? Like getting a call back for an interview because your name is less “black” sounding? Like getting stopped routinely by cops for no seeming reason? The list really goes on. Systematic racism is what allows cultural privilege

To the average everyday white person who doesn’t consider themselves racist or superior in any way (everyone is racist to some degree but few people understand or accept that) they see the message as Only Black Lives Matter or maybe Black Lives Matter More.

Thanks for speaking on behalf of all “average everyday white people.” Having said that, you have a really low opinion of the intelligence of white people. As someone who fits neatly into that demographic, I can attest that I dont subscribe to the BS notions you have outlined above - so maybe that alone undermines your

“I must make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the last few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the

I found the “I can’t be racist because I have a black friend” guy!

Of course they’re different. Incredibly different. Merely having a “black sounding” name automatically lowers your chances of being successful at everything from job interviews to being published in a journal. Pretending otherwise is willful ignorance.

You’re wrong.

I think in the beginning it was a legitimate misunderstanding of intent and terminology. I didn’t get it initially. But now, a year on, the All Lives folks know exactly what they are doing.

Hi. I’m a white, Anglo-Saxon descended, male who’s family has been here since at least the late 18th century. I’m real white, is what I’m saying. I’m not guilty of anything, nor do I feel I should be.

You’re not. That said, its categorically more advantageous to *not* be a minority. Instead you should feel guilty if you muffle the voices of the disadvantaged in an unfair way, i.e. without genuinely considering their views, their position and their experiences.

You’re not — turn down the persecution complex, dweeb.
