First impression... they look very similar. Wheelbase, overhangs, body shape, windshield rake, contour/character lines. First thought I had when I saw the lead photo.

My buddy’s Model 3 had a front Tesla “T” emblem that was not vertical.. it had about a 5 degree lean to the right. I pointed it out.. and he said he didn’t notice lol.  Cognitive dissonance.

Dang I didn’t notice when you originally posted this. I’ll post my potato-camera shots below; it’s funny to see what I gravitated to and what you gravitated to... as evidenced by the very different cars we shot at the same event.  For me, the S2s stole my heart.

Now that I’ve read it, you’ve reaffirmed to me that these new 911s are too much power and too much money. I think a 991 or 997 in choice spec probably awaits me in the future some time. But not right now during The Craziness

Same deal here. We have two kids and my wife adamantly refused a minivan, so now we have an Urban Assault Vehicle.. ahem.. a Tahoe. It’s ok. That marketing strategy has really worked out for them. You actually hear versions of this from actual people.. sometimes even enthusiasts. I’m just a millenial (technically) but even I know that there were decades where people got along in the snow just fine with bias ply tires and RWD.  Snow tires and FWD are not…

I’m in the minority obviously, but I kinda like how this looks. It’s all blobby, quirky, 90s-to-early-00s to me. And the engine is good! 300 hp is fine for this droptop. And I like the interior color!

I’d be fine with that. But I want one done. I’m personally finished with large-scale projects for now, and these sorts of things are almost always cheaper to buy already-done.  So I’ve just been waiting to see the right one come along.

Right. I think I’ve seen a Vantage maybe once every 5-10 years. Definitely special.
