“International Council on Clean Transportation” might be independent, but I doubt they’re not without agenda with a name like that. Of course they’re going to say things are easier. I’m sure the manufactures exaggerate the other way. Truth? Somewhere in the middle.

I think if you have to go up to the SE to get leather, or Autobahn to get the 12 way adjustable seats similar to the R in the GTI. By that point with options, the prices get close enough for me to justify the extra for the bonus horsepower+AWD.

I think it’s more about the cost of having to crash test yet another version because of the differences. Another weird thing about this car that’s rumored to be similar is the non-opening center console hatch in the US version, where it opens in the EU version.

They seem to sell pretty well compared to most VW’s. Dealer stock is only finally starting to catch up to demand. Many dealers still refuse to come off lists, although that’s finally starting to change.

Why do people call DSG’s slushboxes? That’s a specific thing meaning hydraulic drive (the “slush part”), as in most autos. DSG’s aren’t the same. Automatic? Yes. Slush? No. DSG’s are direct gears and clutches.
