There was a time when a low-spec older Gelandewagen just reeked of cultured Old Money. Thanks to later, mega-bling models these now smell like Baller on a Budget.

Yeah, if I were you, I’d just get the GT350, and don’t look back. You probably aren’t missing much. How much of the GT500's additional power would you use?
That rear deck badging is giving me a headache. Why is the Z4 so much taller then the right side badging? Also, stylized sDrive next to the standard font model badge looks awful. Take it allllllll off.
So... you’re telling me the Renault Alliance is taking a turn?
Edgy.
...look, the reason that the US isn’t going to go Metric anytime soon isn’t because of patriotic bluster, hatred of Europeans or anything like that.
What does the airplanes’s country of origin have to do with it? The pilot knew he needed X kilograms of fuel to make it to the destination, he took on X pounds, or roughly 40% of what he knew he needed. Like all the other examples, this is one of stupidity, not a flaw with the Imperial system.
Metric system is garbage for measuring temperature, though, from an everyday life perspective. 0° is a pretty good measure of “really fucking cold” and 100° “really fucking hot!”, a lot more intuitive than the metric equivalents (-18/+38).
It’s worth noting that gasoline vehicles catch fire quite regularly, so there’s probably no need to freak out over electric cars
The rate of conflagrations for ICE vs BEV may be similar while in use, but the risk from these videos seems to be more the conflagration rate when not in use. Generally if your ICE burns it doesn't take your house and worldly possessions with it, because it's on the road.
You realize the Canadian jet running out of fuel that you used as an example was the result of their changing to the metric system. Which makes the opposite point that you are trying to make.
I don’t care what units you’re using, a pilot should be able to descend without putting the plane into the ground.
technically, the root cause of all these errors was human error and not related to any system of measurement.
Why can’t the rest of the world use inches? They did before.
It could be worse, in the UK we use a mishmash of different measurements so all speed limits are in mph and stuff like baking is in metric.
Eight! Thousand! Dollars!
More like $5k too high.
This car is worth $3000 at the absolute most.
Davey was my best and only friend from k-6th grade and really gave credence to the final words in the movie Stand By Me, “I never had any friends later on like I had when I was 12.” Rather, I am 43 now and I still have never found a friend quite like him later in life. Sadly I will never get to tell him face to face…
