I completely avoided spoilers leading uo to this and I was so thankful to see her. I knew she had passed away and didn't think given the time frame that she had filmed any scenes. Same goes for Albert.
I love the first half. It's not 'bad'. Not at all.
My first experience with Twin Peaks and David Lynch, other than Dune as a kid, was seeing Fire Walk With Me on home video and on acid. It was profoundly affecting.
