Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.

Now I’m wishing we had a thumbs down option for comments too.

Spot fucking on. It’s hard to point to one specific thing. But, this post by Torch perfectly encapsulates the wrong turn Jalop has made.

This isn’t clickbait; it’s community engagement. Torch saw something interesting in the car world and brought it up with a bunch of people who are interested in such things and (sometimes) have valuable opinions or something funny to say.

Why? Because it isn’t their car. If whatever they were working on required an extended drive to sort out that’s something they need to tell the customer. I agree with your advice about doing work yourself, but not everyone has the time or expertise to do that. As for finding a mechanic he can trust, he just found one

i think the biggest problem is that all the extra time would have been billed to the customer.

Test drive is not “go get lunch.” Not sure how that can be confused. I had a GTi that was under warranty work (for the umpteenth time) and they gave it to a mechanic for the weekend to “test to make sure the faults were eliminated.” Yeah ... I could do that, thank you very much. All I got for that was a mystery stain,

Because you’re not paying them to get lunch. You’re paying them to fix your car and make sure the repair actually fixed the problem. It’d be like if I brought my computer in to get repaired and instead you decided to just try out all my Steam games....

Let’s ask Lehto!

Steve, How does good samaritan laws apply in situations like this? Would she be able to claim, without justification, that you were committing sexual assault if you tried to restrain her from going out into the middle of the highway?

Thanks for your insight yet again!

Yes. Yes, we did.

Bloke’s clearly busy working through some things right now.

Unfortunately, even though you typed all of that, your opinion has nothing to do with the law.

That's nice, dear.

I don't condone street racing but calling the drivers pieces of shit for killing spectators is pretty dumb too.

"I don't go to the track because I can't afford track days. I need to save the money for new racing slicks."
