I think that Cage and Travolta get to have equal amounts of fun- after all Travolta says to him a couple times "you're still not having any fun!" Cage spends at least twenty minutes of the movie stuck in prison and crying about being stuck in prison.

Very much disagree about your take on Nora being able to be his partner- she's the one who ran away from him this season, even if Kevin played a role in the escalation! They're toxic and co dependent as Nora said on the airplane- that's a mutually created thing. And I don't think the show really knows what to do with

I had the exact same feeling about Kimara's pregnancy. I was just like "whyyyyyyyy." It seems overly dramatic and not fitting the tone of the rest of the series. And there's already SO much to take in.

What are some examples of classic 70s psychodramas ?

Anyone mention the michael Mann references this season? This episodes title obviously and Boyd kidnapping shea wigham resembles that plot- and Garrett dillahunt quoting Heat in mid season. And of course the overarching mirroring of Raylan and Boyd to Al Pacino and DeNiro in Heat. Any other michael Mann Easter eggs

Yeah it's amazing- six seasons in and she still has basically no character arc other than a sounding board for Raylan.

I think it's better than anything he's done since cold roses and he hasn't touched this alternative rock sound for over a decade…deserves higher than a C+ and is more distinct than you're giving it credit for I think. From the first song I thought it sounded like a big step forward for him.

Haha alright I posted that very hastily and ignorantly. I don't know what it's like to be a TV critic and watch tons of shows all the time- I know I would get very jaded and perhaps this show would bug me more than it does. It appeals to me for it has many themes and elements I am personally drawn to in the art I

The teenagers take up so little time of the show and the whole show is great so….stop complaining!

hey guys, this is an important conversation to have and please don't cry reverse racism or color privilege- these voices are super important to have. it's funny cause i thought many of the same things these comments suggest but as soon as I read some of them I had to check myself because some of them seem so hateful.

I got the sense the question is different in the end to show how she has changed- perhaps in the past when her pain was so fresh, the interviewees answered "yes" perhaps from taking subconscious cues from their perception of the pain that Nora was clearly in. Like yes they are in a better place, cause look at how

I totally feel this/ and I can see why someone wouldn't like the show but I agree I just love it because it's about everything I find fascinating in storytelling in general.

I also think that despite the show featuring the church pretty heavily that it's more just about belief in the face of the unknown than anything specifically Christian. I find plenty in it that appeals to me as a non religious person.

Also just because something is an obvious metaphor doesn't make it an inherently bad one, in my opinion.

I think the teens are acting in extreme ways just like all the people are in this show- there's a nihilism that washes over everything because of the departure and I get the sense that the teens are acting this way because, if adolescence isn't hard enough, then throw this crazy shit on top of that that makes it

I feel a little frustrated with the AV Club that you have this ratings system yet you don't have consistency in critical opinion- the latter part is fine of course but frustrating when it then seems to contradict other official AV Club stuff- for example you guys gave this season an "A" and here is Sonya who is not

Boys n the hood was mostly set in the 90s.

I just want to say- you guys should probably change your rating system. When I see your grades, it just sort of says nothing to me about the film- when I see B- I automatically assume it's not really good at all- grades mean different things to different people- i feel like the star rating just makes a little more

I'd like to call to attention that you gave Neko Case a C+ on the original album review yet it ends up in your top albums list. Fix your rating scale! Or if everyone else loved the album why did you let the one guy who didn't review it?
