When we moved into our current house, we replaced the electric stove with a gas model that has a griddle in the center (not one of the super-fancy ones, just basic) and that griddle gets so much use!
Pancakes don’t need milk. See elsewhere.
I’m sorry, but making a mix, even your own, just looks lazy to me. It takes me 15 minutes (approx) from nothing to pancakes for 2-3, using this recipe:
3/4 cup flour
Missed that. Taking iocaine powder now.

Fair point. I don’t see any requirement that it be a mirrorless SLR, just mirrorless, but I should have “read in” the implied SLR.

Nikon Coolpix S9900. You can get it refurb’d most anywhere, including Amazon, but it’s apparently no longer a current model. We bought a refurbished one for Child as a birthday present, and it has simply been fantastic. Beautiful, clear images, and the zoom is incredible. Child sometimes uses it for color, but more…

I used to live and work in a town on the Mississippi River in southern Wisconsin. During Mayfly season, you did not want to be anywhere near the river. Our company moved into a new, relatively tall building—I think we had the 3rd and 4th floors—and during the season, the mayflies would pile up on the window ledges…
Occupy the Floor.
That would be nice. Unfortunately, the Party of No has kept that conversation from happening thus far.
Seconding the sentiment!
I’m from Connecticut—reasonably pleased.
I have owned a number of the Lamy pens, and hated every one. That may be because I prefer a fine/extra-fine nib, but the ink just doesn’t flow. I love the way they look, but they have never worked for me. By contrast, I recently bought a Metropolitan and it was love out of the box. The fine nib is closer an an XF, in…
I have been using MSOffice for a very, very long time. But I think with the use of “Office” and “Office 365" as brands, things have gotten completely out of control. I do subscribe to the Business Premium package (for the storage and the website as much as for the Office applications), but it has not been pretty. The…
She’s demonstrating the difference between justice and judgment, and the problem with the latter in criminal matters. Justice is what we want when someone we don’t know is convicted of committing a crime. You did X? You get Y. Judgment is what we want when we (or someone we know) is convicted of a crime—it calls on us…
Last week I flew on Alaskan, and had free streaming of film festival selections. Nice, and a lot better than typical airline fare.
That’s called Harvest Gold, and it does, indeed, qualify as a winner. Or maybe it’s a tie with Avocado Green. There was also a brown that GE used in the ‘60s and ‘70s—we had a used, top-loading dishwasher with a butcherblock top (AKA the dishwasher with the dancefloor) that was painted that color. So, a 3-way tie.
Timex is still around, but electronics have been the great leveler with respect to accuracy. I had a hand-wounds Timex too, as a kid. Then my grandparents gave me a self-winding Bulova, and I wore that for more than 15 years...
Guys, it’s been 32 years since the first one came out. It’s OK if someone wants to remake it. If it’s actually messing with your childhood, you’re a grown adult now. Just chill out.
Until phones are the size of watches (see below) and worn on the wrist, there’s a lot to be said for having the time, um, close at hand. There are also advantages to analog over digital, but that may be a matter of taste.
