Anybody else see the irony in automakers flying journalists out to test their EVs?

Interesting choice to compare. I’m not sure Mustang drivers are all that concerned about other people. At least not pedestrians. /s

It probably only sold so well because BL was publicly owned and the public had to eat it’s own cat food.

If you could eliminate several hundred pounds of weight by removing airbags and cutting out some of the steel safety structure, you would also improve performance and mileage. Go do that. Heck, even ditch the leather seats for lighter cloth or get rid of that third row for your fictitious Mormon size family.

Nevermind the Mach E, is Ford saying the E-Transit isn’t Built Ford Tough?

I’d add countries with large agricultural sectors as in most of the Americas. The funny thing is, you go to some of those countries and you see lots of pickups, but they are not status symbols. They are symbols that you work with your back, not your brain.

Exactly. What investor looks at a company and says “this board and management are incompetent, but thank god there is a CEO that knows how to run things. I’ll pour my money in there.”? Seriously, if Tesla is in trouble because Musk isn’t paying attention, then they have bigger problems. Much bigger.

This Staria platform is nice. I haven’t seen the actual dimensions, but it looks to be a reasonable compact footprint unlike VW’s alphabet soup van. The styling is also nice, clean and understated. I wonder what sins North Americans are paying for that we can’t get this. Oh wait, probably best not to ask.

Just wow. What’s really telling here is not the subscription debate, but the features described. Whether subscription or baked in, these are what people want? Need? REALLY NEED?

somewhat uninspiring Taos

Given the shortage, you should be able to get top dollar for them.

It seems odd that a car that was essentially a test mule and then stored would be covered in bondo, or is that their idea of a full ‘restoration’?

Toronto Auto Show sometime in the early 2000's. A couple gets into an argument. The woman has a meltdown and locks herself in one of the cars. A BMW but I don’t recall the model. The show staff couldn’t find the key to get her out. My buddy and I kept circling back to see if she was still there. She was for quite a

When wool is thick enough, it’s not an issue. Some furniture makers back wool cloth with a layer of wool felt. It also makes it feel sturdier.

I agree. Let people blither all they want. Just turn off the Likes and Shares so they don’t get amplified.
