I feel a bit of irritation at this story. I’m a black guy who has a white niece and a white nephew who are both the grandchildren of a black man and descendants of slaves. They’re a quarter black just as the subject of this story is a quarter Puerto Rican. It irritates me that they might one day want to explore their

Re: the episode hosted by Alex Trebek - wasn’t that an April Fools’ Day episode, where Pat and Vanna were the contestants? It’s not as though he was on a week-long bender and missed it.

Hollywood far-right is Mississippi communist. Let’s be real here and recognize the concept of relativity.

Nope. She took a squat right in front of the puzzle, kids slid out, she went back to work.

I picture that she ran back and forth, handling both parts admirably. That or a robot.

Huh. Well there ya go. Even community service seems harsh, honestly, given the circumstances.

Very much this- and it’s super weird to treat any of the people in the show as role models, because the show’s largely about very flawed people treating each other like shit. I’m not saying the show is flawless in execution, but it’s good at making everyone equally despicable and pitiful, and wanting Bonnie to be less

In particular I strongly disagree with trying to argue that Bonnie is empathetic–if anything, she’s constantly distant and off-putting, even in season one. Although Kravitz’s acting is so blank it’s easy to project characteristics onto her.

I agree. While it has some valid points, it’s a skewed pov. Plus season 2's writing of the entire Monterey Five does a real disservice to all their characters. If some of them come off better, that’s due to the acting, not the the writing.

There’s little evidence on screen to treat this as anything beyond a personal take.

Really?  I legit have no memory of this.  My overall memory of her from the first season was that she was presented as this hip, cool “rival” to Madeline who got along with Madeline’s daughter and was a bit of the envy of the other women.  Maybe I just overlooked the sexualization entirely.

Having not watched this series, but heard about it, and only just now watched a clip where Perry is killed: would she realistically even have been convicted of anything if it became public knowledge? Or would she be applauded as a hero who saved a woman whom he was in the midst of very possibly beating to death?

Bonnie is “uncomfortably sexualized in a way that only increases her victimization”?  When is this?  If anything, Bonnie is one of the least sexualized characters.

Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.

I mean, Sharon, Jinx, Sasha, and Aquaria are the only white main season winners, so it’s not exactly as if the show is drowning in white people. Granted, three out of five AllStars are white, but no one in their right mind would argue Chad and Alaska didn’t deserve it solidly over everyone else.

Bebe, Tyra, Raja, Bob all won a season of Drag Race.

Prior to Yvie, 5 out of the 10 winners were POC. (Bebe, Tyra, Raja, Bianca, Bob).

Wife: How was the episode?

The endless whining in this and other comment boards about a mad queen going mad is genuinely tiring.

I agree but then what did you expect would happen. I don't know what else could happen
