@burglar: Well sure the crazy French did it already.... and it was a good idea! No reason to stop with the Clio.

Drop the S3's 2.0fsi + DSG into it, tone down the body kit and ship it!

To follow up, assuming they both came across the 10, it's about 19 miles longer to get to redondo beach than it is to get to newport beach (according to google maps). So I really don't think the other 70-80 miles are relevant. Those miles must have come from somewhere else along the route.

First off, I'm not the Andy Duncan that organized the event.

So, sounds like it's based on a Porsche, and that's about. Makes sense to start with a boxter chassis then if they are in fact identical except for the parts you're going to saw off and replace anyway.

I'd much rather have one of the new Dodge/Daimler Sprinter vans. I know this is becoming a theme, where everyone keeps bitching to ford about how they have perfectly serviceable European offerings they could easily bring over, but seriously, what does a guy have to do to get a Ford Transit in this country?

Come on, this has to be a frigging viral marketing campaign. The damn thing is wearing the equivalent of Superman's Clark Kent disguise, it's been photographed and video taped all over the states. @Colonel35: Definitely a turbo, but the 320/470 number sounds like a massive turbo with a restrictor (race spec), without some sort of restrictor, the power number should be closer to the torque number.

So, uh. Is that the new diesel inline 6? Displacement? Power? infoporn! I demand infoporn!
