I was thinking the same thing, but then I saw the video that @Billy Dee Williams posted in response to me. It's so discouraging.

Jeez, this makes me so sad. Great video btw, and thanks for the link.
I did the same thing! I had a black and grey one. I only did it after seeing them offered as special editions in Japan and learning they would never be released in the States. ^^
Can we hear from an Aliens fan, please? I am about as die hard as they come, and I can usually gloss over a fair amount of flaws if it ties into the source well enough. Was really looking forward to this. :/
Maybe so, but I've just saying I've never seen it, and I've used a lot of gampads. I'm only questioning how common it is.
I love my VB!
I've played a hell of a lot of N64 in my time, and I've never had a broken analog stick—nor have I seen one. I've known them to get loose over time, but that's it. Did you and your friends abuse your gamepads?
Oh, I misread the article. Skimmed too fast on my mobile this morning. I feel for Jon. :/
Get off your high horse, guy. Everyone returns stuff to retailers if it's within the grace period. The real buffoon is whoever manages Nintendo's e-shop.

I read the first article, an I'm so glad this worked out for the guy. I know how frustrating it can be to lose digital purchases through no fault of your own, and it's great to see a company go out of their way to make it right. I applaud Nintendo, and hopefully this kind of publicity will encourage them to implement…
I hope you're enjoying those older FFs. They're some of my favorites! Are you playing VI?
No, you're not looking through a clouded lens. While they may not be as "with it" on their account management, they are definitely not at odds with their customers like the other major manufacturers/publishers these days. The other guys want our money and at the same time they give us the finger and ask to bend over.…
It's true that manufacturers probably don't care about the immediate impact these restrictions would have on collectors, but it's not a moot point. Retro gaming is a huge part of geek culture, and taking steps that will effectively kill it going forward is a huge mistake.
This has been bothering me for years, and I just posted something similar. As a collector and a social gamer who swaps stuff with my friends all the time, I hate where this business is headed. If the manufactures keep squeezing me the wrong way, they're going to force me right out of my favorite hobby.
I would actually like a new set of consoles. I'm genuinely disappointed about the direction things are heading in this business. Don't get me wrong, I hate GameStop, and I never buy used if I can help it, but if the tethering of physical games to one account and/or console is too much.
I've heard horror stories, but my parents are beautiful in that this will never happen. There is more space up there than they will ever use, and they supported my hobby. ^^
