I heard about this story but didn’t keep up with it. What was his endgame for all of this? It seems like he was short-sighted about what to expect after it got picked up by the media. If this is true, he’s given a major boost in trivializing the very real racism and homophobia attacks that still happen.

Sorry to hijack the thread but you should have author privileges on The Salad Bowl. I’m not sure if you ever got the notification from me on my end but you do :)

You should have posted this reply to her “I’m Latina!!!! response.

I was mesmerized as an adult so I can only imagine being a kid and witnessing such a huge historic event. You’re an awesome mom.

I was there. Freezing my entire ass off, surviving on a couple of hours sleep and enjoying every single minute because I was watching our first black president get sworn in.

I can’t even find the proper words to convey how furious this makes me.

This person is certainly living up to their username. Ignore them; darkrage6 is so far up Gaga’s ass, you could probably see their eyes when Gaga opens her mouth.

Thank you for this.

It’s great when your elected representatives are actually representing you. She’s showing tons of young voters (and old ones) that elections matter when you want your voice to be heard.

You know, it’s not as surprising to me considering the way he spouts off about 45 and all the bullshit. Actually makes sense a bit in a way, just not why he married Kellyanne.

No. Have you ever considered that the white people’s president tweets about literally everything except people who scare him? Probably not, but it’s laughable to suggest that Avenatti, a lawyer who is doing quite well with his legal case again 45, is “so inconsequential.”

I’m torn because I agree with you but it’s clear that 45 is terrified of Avenatti (to my knowledge, he hasn’t tweeted about him at all) and that makes me what him to run.

I didn’t realize you had been stalking me for four years. Thanks for the heads up :)

Why are you commenting on an article that’s four years old?

It is and I tell it as much as I can because it’s such a huge problem in the black community. I can only imagine how many generations it goes back with my family but I made a conscience effort to stop it. I wish my mom had taken steps to get better but she lives in a completely different reality than the rest of us.

My mother and I share a complexion (she might be like a shade lighter) and if memory serves, she and my unseen aunt were the same color as well. If you look at my avatar, that’s my skin color.

I was trying to leave you a comment yesterday but mobile sucks.

We misread the comment (or rather misinterpreted the comment) and thought he was talking to Damon.

We’ve had a contentious relationships for years, only been on speaking terms twice in my entire adult life. However, this time it really hurts because (I thought) we had been building an open and honest relationship for about a year and I was so happy about it. But she kept doing shit that made me think it was just an

Thank you :) Honestly, staying listening and paying attention. Being an ally means you understand AND speak up and out when you see these injustices happening.

The top comment is equating the article guy saying he cannot believe black people play chess to the same way that white people cannot believe that black people can speak so well. I replied that white people, who have heard me speak, have said that I sound so educated. I was giving an anecdote that has nothing to do
