There's actually a plot here, unlike some other hero-related movie out there.

Wow. Just, wow.

I think Joss Whedon is a better writer, but Nolan is a better screenwriter.

Yes. A thousand times yes!

I totally agree with you, but I kind of felt cheated at the end. I walked out of there remembering all the awesome Hulk moments, and then I thought "mhmm but why did that crazy alien army want to destroy us again?". Among other questions.

I've seen the movie, and I want to talk about it! Where's my review io9? :)

Well I thought it was awesome. Then I remembered it had no plot.

This person I know isn't going to watch The Avengers because it's too "fantasy-like". This person is also first in line to see Battleship.

That would be a-ma-zing.

I kinda liked the fact that it was so different from other monsters, like zombies or dragons. This thing is so not-definable, so unpredictable that you can't help be scared of it.

For one microsecond I thought I magically closed the io9 tab on my browser and opened up The Onion.

I understand your pain. We all have a crazy Facebook friend. It's fun to present facts to them and watch them not really accepting anything and then replying something like "oh you take everything too seriously lol"

Apparently Smoke Monsters everywhere hate water...

Huh, I hadn't met any people that thought it was not good.

Read the same sentence but take away the word "man" and it still holds true.

There be trolls around these parts...

The Avengers is the movie we deserve, but not the movie we need right now.

The Hunger Games case is horrible. I understand the appeal but the book is in itself not very good, good marketing for a movie though.

Please do not lump together 1Q84 with the Hunger Games. It makes me sad.
