It seems we have lots of colorful unscrupulous characters, we just have sights like AV Club moaning about their "sonic merits," Stereogum moaning about their impoliteness at concerts, and everybody else moaning about their political incorrectness.

"Comparing the two to argue legalization is indeed a waste of time and is not the same thing."

Nothing is great there's also No Joy, Malka Speigel, Black Hearted Brother, True Widow, Jesu, the Morr music label and a bunch of others that are in and around that vain.

I still remember Elizabeth Smart gently nudging her off the topic of what it felt like to wear a head scarf and back to the topic of being kidnapped, held hostage, raped, and forced to marry her captor.

Nah, Nancy Grace is convinced that there is something uniquely evil about marijuana. If you showed her 2 videos of people giving 2 year-olds shots of Jack Daniel's she'd accuse you of trying to change the subject, hold her hands in the shape of box and say "but, we're talking about marijuana, and marijuana is

She reminds me of the Rev. Lovejoy's wife. The one they drew like a bird to emphasise that she hen pecks.

Actually the guy with 4.0 GPA is the one that knows something about the world and understands something about the person he's arguing with. Basically he knows that it is a complete waste of time to compare alcohol and marijuana and it's been a waste of time to make that comparison since the days of prohibition. He

I thought the mbv record was excellent I've probably listened to 100 times. Sure it's not as strong as Loveless and most people wouldn't know about if a it wasn't a high profile band release it but that's the case with most music.

Does this surprise anyone?

By post-grunge you mean modern rock? Don't see how anyone is blaming that on Nirvana when all those bands sounds so much more like friendly versions of AiC, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam.

I think 'hair metal' will go down as the most historically revised era in rock music history. No doubt everybody will be gushing over the stuff in 5-10 years only with more sincere cross-dressing.

Don't forget the Melvins.

Well, you could always just listen to Billy Cobham instead

I'm sure this is how a lot of post-grunge bands felt.

I've always had a soft spot for Mick Ronson's tone.

Subdivisions really hits home when Geddy starts playing that heavy bass line.

Funny how people forget about Glam Rock when they're trying to blame someone for hair metal. Of course these days hair metal just seems like a straw man built for Kurt Cobain to tear down.

In my mind, those weren't bands influenced by Nirvana those were bands that were made marketable because of Nirvana. You don't have to listen to the Pixies to know that Creed has basically no similarities to Nirvana. If want to blame post grunge on anybody it would be bands like Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Alice

Well, I was trying to give the writer the benefit of the doubt.
