My position on CDs is that I've simply run out of places to put them and my budget can only handle some digital and some vinyl.

The decline in display units is simply following the decline in physical sales. The fact is people are drifting away from physical formats. There is still a lot of promotion happening but the fact is the major labels are simply promoting fewer artists now.

Neil Peart was a young drummer once…

There are also variations of youth soccer and indoor soccer that played in 4 quarters. I'm too lazy to do a lyric read, but I'm assuming he's not talking about playing a professional sport professionally.

Reptile is the one that really stands out though.. there's so much potential but it's Trent got writers block and fell back on his (never actually happened) spurned romance that he only got into cause he was lonely thing.

… … .. ??? !!! ???

"Safe as houses" is old slang for reassuring a doubter. Remembering whose wearing the trousers is more slang for knowing who's in charge.

Yah, I remember hearing this song at a coffee shop and figured I was just hearing the lyrics wrong.

I'm sure atheists are about four fifths of the reason Kirk Cameron gets any attention.

There doesn't seem to be one beyond the fact that they were initially difficult to make and probably only made at Christmas time so the association just happened over time. Another example of this would be football and Thanksgiving.

Instead they're threatened by harmless phrases like "happy holidays" and "seasons greetings" that really aren't an affront to Merry Christmas. Nor can they acknowledge

Smithereens is a band that never could peg until someone told me they were power pop. To me straight up rock is songs like Johnny B. Good, Please Don't Go, and California Sun.

Yah, it's not like it's hard to get accurate chart information these days.

M.I.A. tries so hard at being controversial it must be a little painful to know that she's generated the most outrage by eating french fries and flipping the bird.

I remember the YouTube comments on a Smoosh video. An eleven year-old girl is having the time of her life playing drums on live TV, and men are letting the world know that they could do better.

I respect the apology but I think the original opinion piece is exactly what is wrong with Henry Rollins. It's one thing to be a blunt reactionary but it's another to have a toxic view of humanity with little personal reflection. He even used a violent metaphor in what was supposed to be a calm and collected apology.

I'm impressed, somebody found ole Hank's off switch.

Don Henley would simply list all his hit songs and then muse about why no one can do he did anymore.

Because in the 60s and 70s rock music criticism established the concept of authenticity and being perceived to not have it is like being accused of witch craft. On the other side of things you have a deep sense of sexism that dictates that women don't really know music or business and must have men in the background
