I've always liked the concept of the Astro as a compromise between a minivan and the full size vans like the Ford E Series and Chevy Express. Too bad the execution of the idea was hampered by GM's piss poor build quality that was so common in the late '90s-early 2000s. A friend's dad had one of the last ones made,

I'm not familiar with this type of racing, but wouldn't there be any independent teams that could/do race Vipers at LeMans?

I have a feeling this doesn't count since it's a voluntary addition to the vehicle.

Until I read this I didn't realize how utterly pointless those hubcaps were. I'd have to say Saturn is (was) the worst offender in this area.

Sure, it's probably going to be a great classic, but if Audi's other cars are any indication, they don't age very well reliability-wise.

Seems like the Camaro is pretty good at hiding its weight. The Challenger, not so much. It's got an ample posterior to say the least.

Honestly, I've never thought of the Camaro as overweight. The Challenger, on the other hand....

Do you think they're going to make a 4x4 kit for the new Transit? That would be pretty cool to see.

The name's Quigley. They started out doing Ford E-Series 4x4 kits but now that's obviously out so they're moving over to Nissans. They do all sorts of 4x4 conversions like RVs, schoolbuses, etc.

I wonder what this means for Quigley and the other companies that doe 4x4 van conversions. Now that the E-Series is on the way out and Sprinter is offering factory 4x4, I would imagine that dampens business a bit.

I bet it wouldn't be difficult with that wonky weight distribution (assuming it doesn't come with a trailer for testing).

Would it be at all possible to get one of those out on loan like the other press vehicles? I think a Jalopnik review of this truck would be fascinating to say the least.

Hopefully your good deeds will make up for the transgressions committed above.

That's almost as bad as the people who put TVs in the interior panels of their Lambo doors.

Looks like a poor man's Ariel Atom.

Every time this happens a kitten gets shredded in a blender.

If I want a small car to run around the city in, I am NOT going to pay BMW prices. The problem here is that BMW is failing to recgonize that luxury car buyers equate size with price. They aren't going to pay $35K plus for something like this.

And nary a tear will be shed.

Not as bad as that Cabela's Edition Ford trucks that they were selling a few years back, but still fugly. Crack pipe all the way.

Almost makes you wonder if the guy was one of those "friends of the owner" types.
