@Jchoi1994: I somewhat agree with you, but I think part of it is also just the fact that we've gotten older since then and simply aren't scared as easily. I definitely feel the same about TP; it's almost as if they tried to make it creepy, which had the effect of not being such at all.

@NeonLight: Agreed. The shriek was just like "Oh damn, I'm frozen. That's annoying." The groaning? Holy crap that scared me.

@brijazz: $51,000, apparently.

@Lizard_King: Oh and HL2: Episode 2 is on Steam for $2 this week. I got it in a bundle a while ago. If you haven't played through the episodes they're pretty sweet—not as good as the main game, but they keep the story going pretty well.

@Lizard_King: Haha just got done playing a few minutes ago. Yesssss.

Regarding the difference in daily activations for iOS vs Android: keep in mind that iOS is on just two phones still being sold new (iPhone 4 and 3GS), the iPad, and iPod touches. Compare that to the insanely wide range of Android phones on the market. I don't know how many variations there are, but there's certainly

@Zubieta: I am a college student (sophomore) and got my 17" Macbook Pro right before the start of my freshman year (that is, I ordered one of the brand-new ones announced at WWDC '09.) I absolutely love it. It's also an absolute beast, as I maxed it out in every way except RAM, brining the pre-rebate total to around

@El_Mexicutioner: I don't know about a remake, but yeah, they definitely need to continue the series in that direction. Best tracks, the idea of doubling up on characters actually made picking your racer a slightly strategic decision (introduced special weapons and went beyond just the weight classes), and most

@Interstella5555: I have to sound in on this, too. Double Dash was and continues to be my favorite Mario Kart game by a long shot. I was thoroughly disappointed with the craptastic Wii version.

For storage purposes, I think 16-bit is fine on iPhone. Yes, the option would be good for some, but considering I only do my serious listening while at my Macbook Pro, I don't think it's necessary. To me, the simple solution is to have 24-bit music available in the iTunes store, and then use the convert-while-syncing

@mmseng: It pays off for sure, of course not always in such big ways as tufflaw mentioned. For another example, I was at a bakery-café type of place a few months ago. The food was fine, but the employees were quite nasty to me. I spent five minutes writing an email on their customer service/support/contact page.

@tobylane: As awful as I find the redesigns to be, and as a ca site user only now, I agree that they just need to switch everything over if they're going to change at all. Although I think the best thing would be to just revert everything back to the days just before this latest redesign. Or just go waaaay back:

@MrGOH: Attack. Ok. Watch. Walk forward. Repeat.

@woshiernog: Is that a statement of "wow that's incredible" or "eh, that's it?"?

@Mr. Pie!: Honestly the only thing keeping me dedicated to PC gaming is the controls. I hate hate hate playing FPSs with traditional controllers. Keyboard and mouse FTW!

@Chumley Marchbanks: Half-Life 2 wouldn't really tax the system too much, but I agree, it's an absolutely awesome game.

@-MasterDex-: I may be totally wrong on this, but isn't Crysis characterized by having terrible optimization?

No pictures of the setup?

@Slagathorian: Save the trees and kill the children.: I was going to go through and say why each of those isn't applicable here, but I think this best sums it up: those deal with things in the physical, real world that have existing laws to protect other people from what you are doing. For example, you have to cut
