You think this is about a horse race?

It wouldn’t have worked because the technology wasn’t there yet; steam is impracticable for an armoured fighting vehicle because you couldn’t make one small enough to fit in a land vehicle that would have enough power to actually move it, armour weighs a lot, and that’s something you haven’t considered and the amount

Same thing happens in the electrical retail industry; a rep for a big brand name Korean company once told me that spare parts for TV’s washing machines etc. are regularly written off and dumped, and when doing so they even send security to make sure the parts are destroyed and buried.

You made the right decision, Battleship runs like it was the love child of Ewe Boll and Michael Bay, pointless things blowing up and no charm or story to speak of.

I find his work simular to wood engravings, something he would be familiar with, it does evoke the historic period feel he was going for.

Why do I get the feeling that in terms of Arrow wasp more fittingly means White Antisocial Sociopathic Passive-aggressive?

I bet if this had been caused by a "foreign" multinational company it would have been splayed across every news outlet around the country with calls for compensation in the multiple millions, that it’s not shows the double standards of governments and news outlets.

It’s in our basic nature to seek advantage, technology and capitalism can be lumped into the same basket in this regard because they are just two ways we achieve this; this is “who” we are and we just have to deal with it.

Human beings have shown that we have a great capacity to adapt to environmental conditions which has allowed us to spread unchecked, we only change when it’s imposed on us by outside conditions not because we should, being smart doesn’t change our basic nature even if we understand the long term problem.

I would say that’s exactly who we are, we are an apex predator that got there by being smarter than the other predators, not stronger, not faster, smarter!

I got the opposite/same reaction to Smallville, just how many times did Clark let the bad guy live for him to kill again before he gets the message that perhaps it wasn’t a good idea to do so, but maybe being virtually indestructible makes you more magnanimous.

That’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard this week, go back to preindustrial civilization to fix our environmental problems, the thing is if we did that we would have to clear and devote more land to agriculture than we do now.

“With a calm demeanor and a cool head, we watched Tyreese lead this new pack of survivors to safety.”

The flaw in your argument is that change requires a long lead-time; however the pace of change is only determined by human understanding of a technology, our need to develop that technology, and social limitations of a technology.

You’re implying that America pays more for drugs just because they are Americans, but you will probably find the price is the same it’s just that countries like Australia and the UK, even Cuba subsidise their drugs so everyone who needs it can afford it.

It’s obviously an STD, Singing Till Death!

I think the point of the article is that technology is putting the belligerents on both sides at a distance from the conflict thus preventing an end to it.

I don’t know why they bothered to remake a movie called “Red Dawn” and not have a credible enemy; at least I could buy China (probably) being able to invade the US but North Korea? The guys that can’t even launch a rocket, and their strategic lift capability amounts to 3 IIyusin II-76 transports (yep that’s “3”

The movie didn’t cut from the plot to the fantasy which had nothing to do with it, the fantasy aspects were completely part of the plot, it’s just what you “saw” as the plot was just one “layer,” probably the most relatable one, of that plot.

The roof is caved in and the cabinets show signs of water damage so dust is the least of the problem, but you still might be able to salvage some of the parts.
