One trick: If the customer’s a regular, remember their name.

The best way to bing Jessica Jones?

    Isn’t this just Happy?

Anyone watching The Year Of The Rabbit?

This short went on to become Boy...

It’s not a critique about the episode; it’s a critique of this review (and others).

Totally agreed. And that is what the show should be called- I can’t see Frank Herbert having any time for a colon.

Yes, but the story quality scraped the bottom of the barrel years ago, and didn’t stop digging. It’s sad that there are now more episodes of The Shit Simpsons than there are of The Simpsons and The Meh Simpsons put together.

    After 9/11:
Voiceover: We all lost something that day...
Pan to wall. There are a large number of photographs of NYFD personnel. The word “murderers” has been spray-painted across the lot.

Because if you called it Dune: Bene Gesserit, peoples’ heads would explode??? This is one of these Licence Revoked/Licence To Kill situations, isn’t it...

For TV shows, yes. When watching the show becomes a slog and there are clear indications that the writers don’t know where they are going. I’ve given up on many shows and never regretted it: Lost; The Simpsons; The Walking Dead are some examples.

I gave up after episode 1 of series 2. This discussion seems to indicate I made the right decision.

The short run of the season gives me hope for Screenwipe 2019

I mentioned before how, when bingeing a series, AVClub writers miss obvious points and nuances in episodes. Amongst the many, the 3 biggest ones for me are:
    1. Smartphones (and digital assistants) can be used to covertly listen to you- there’s evidence of this happening now in the real world.
    2. Social Media operators

There’s no way USS McCallister and Nosedive should rank that high- they really were the most generic of the “what if” premises. In fact, given that 80% of the top 5 are “American episodes” I’m wondering if there’s a subconscious bias by the writers towards the stories that feel more familiar to them...

    Sooooooooo, Falcon shags Mantis....

    Is this not rosti???

I’m afraid if the choice was American bacon or America sausage, I would have to say neither.

That’s a pity. It will be interesting if we see a change of tone in the next series.

    Good observation.
