Chop it up and stick it in individual ziplock bags and freeze. Many stews, soups and stock use celery and you can add straight from the freezer.
Depends on type and quanity- if there’s enough, it comes into work with me the next day as lunch. If it’s bread/rice/pasta, it gets given to the birds. Everything else goes in the dogs.
Don’t weekly (or longer) shop, buy up fresh ingredients every couple of days. That allows you to focus on what you are going to cook in the next 1 to 2 days and makes sure you are not using week old (or longer) “fresh” ingredients.
