18 MPG is better than SUV fuel economy? I had an older diesel suburban that got 20, and I can safely guarantee it had more room and was very comfortable. Not so much on the "reasonably quiet" part though. Mine was a 4x4 on 285's no less.

From what I have heard, including from Ford fans, the Triton V10 is a horrible motor, they have all kinds of problems with the heads. Not to mention it is huge dimension-wise and not a very impressive power output considering it is 6.8 liters (only making 362 hp in 3 valve form).

When I saw exactly what kind of vehicle had met its "untimely" demise I got excited and quickly though , "Gee I can't wait to go and make a joke about it being a Sunfire." Unfortunately I was beaten to the proverbial punch many times over. I love jalopnik.
