Keep in mind how well you can run the game also depends on other things like your CPU, RAM and HDD even down to how fragmented that HDD might be etc but in terms of GPU performance alone in general I think it is on par with the R9 380X like mentioned above.

From what I can tell the 980M is on par with the R9 380X performance wise if want to compare with other cards in the list above. The 980M is not on par with the desktop 980 GPU performance wise by quite a margin.
