It's satisfying to drag the UI across the screen, and large elaborate sliding animations have always been in Apple's UIs, OS X is full of them.

Perhaps the article should specify, the camera button is always present on the lock screen in this build and does not require a double-press of the home button like the current behavior. Seems to be causing a lot of confusion. #corrections

I thought at this point the SandForce controllers in most modern SSDs do enough garbage collection to make TRIM unnecessary. Sorta like the person who feels the need to defrag Windows 7 and OS X regularly.

I wouldn't call them awful developers. Gawker sites are just really, really javascript heavy. Less so than when the redesign first hit (holy shit slow), but they're still pretty loaded.
