@kettlewhistle: There used to be a javascript you could run ( Link), but I tried it with OS X Safari and Dev Chrome and it didn't work. In any case, if it works for you, here's how to disable it.

@gizread: +1 for SuperDuper!/CarbonCopyCloner backup advice.

@hewhoroams: If it displayed the NBI logo (a Mini9) on the boot that hung, it probably wasn't the best idea to do a hard reset. NBI 0.8.4+ will auto-run on next boot if it detects an update just installed. It's best to let it do its thing. You may have clipped it when it was rebuilding it's Extensions.mkext or

OS X mouse cursor??

Forgive me for my heresy, but I prefer using MobileMe for my Email and contacts, among other things. I gave Google the ol' college try, but for complete syncing of my Macbook, iMac, and iPhone, MobileMe had the least difficulty.

Time machine is great for a normal backup, but paranoid blokes like me also need a bootable backup, so I use CarbonCopyCloner every week. It's completely free and has saved me a few times.

VOTE: Time Machine

@Roobs: Really? seems to be following the Zune HD/Metro UI takeover of Microsoft products nicely.

@olilea: With WiFi-N getting more popular, sharing over WiFi isn't as bad as it used to be. Even a normal, non-Gigabit wired network can be better than a Flash Drive.

@Nicholas Stehle: "Chrome menu — Synchronize My Bookmarks"? Only for Google accounts, but that can be better in some instances. But thats what Safari's for ^^

Does anyone else think this is a really bad idea?

@Firesphere: I'll give you that the slab of silicone does make the MM more ergonomic. But then you get into the Apple factor. The mouse has to look damn good. Johnny Ives probably had a crisis when he saw this solution. Sure, you could make an ergonomic multitouch mouse, but you wouldn't have the Full surface, then

@Surya Prakash Sharma: In a world of HTML5 videos everywhere, this would be great. In the Flash-y reality we live in, this can be used if you want to download something thats not on youtube.

@Firesphere: Can you use a multitouch mouse if the entire multitouch surface is in contact by your palm? Refer to my wall-o-text below.

Look, you complain that the Magic Mouse is unergonomic, but is there any other form for a multitouch mouse?

If you want to, you can download any flash video (not just those on Youtube) in Safari or Firefox easily. In Safari, go to "Window Activity". You'll be on a huge wall-o-text page organized by your tabs. Under whatever tab your video is, you see a file ending in ".flv" that's several MB. Just double-click this file
