My guess is Kia would make EA cough up money. Because the sponsorship is with the sport itself, not 2k, and EA has incentive to include it to be as accurate as possible, and kia would jump at the chance to get someone to pay for their ad to be included in the game.

Legacy was worth it for the production value alone. The visuals and the sounds were exceptional, and even the scenes filmed in the real world were exceptionally atmospheric. The film is like a concept art book come to life.
