It’s interesting to consider how people react to other kinds of accusations. If you heard that your friend had been accused of stealing how much evidence would you need to think “eh, they probably did it”?

Reactive abuse is a thing - ie abuse can cause a victim to react in verbally and physically abusive ways. A person living in an abusive relationship isn’t going to remain completely stable or rational in the face of that abuse and it is unfair to expect them to do so.
Its well documented and written about by political scholars that the Religious Right adopted a pro-life stance (only several years after Roe) as a way to rally support for a platform of “religious freedom” and “Christian values”. Doing so unified a fractured base into a block of single issue voters who would not…
So why are responding to criticism by saying you guess it’s “illegal” to have your opinion? People responding to your comments with their own comments is how free speech works.
If you don’t understand the connection between the anti-abortion movement and white supremacy in the United States then you don’t know much about this issue or its history. Educate yourself.
Are you under the impression that people not liking things you say is the same thing as government censorship and criminalization of speech?
You seem to be missing the major point of intersectionality - that everyone’s rights are interdependent.
This would be a win-win if abortion care was actually the money maker prolifers love to claim it is. Get women in Oklahoma the healthcare they need/want and transfer wealth back to indigenous people. If there’s a fund for any such clinic I will happily give it a ton of my money.
Tell me you know nothing about third trimester abortions by saying this case is unusual because there were medical reasons for it. *Cringe*
Look up any pre-19th century abortion law.
He’s not that good - “quick child” refers to a fetus past the quickening.
Does Alito - the man ruling on abortion’s legality and using historical precedent to do so - not know that “quick child” refers to a fetus that is past the point of “the quickening” ie the point in pregnancy in which fetal movements are perceptible to the pregnant person? And does he not know that “the quickening”…
I’m 30 and have several friends who had more ambivalent views of abortion before they starting getting pregnant or trying to. Before they were in the “I never would but people should have the option” camp, having experienced pregnancy and/or miscarriage they’re screaming “abortion on demand!”
If you’re actually an RN surely you know that abortion is a common treatment for miscarriage and other pregnancy complications. Ending unplanned pregnancies won’t end abortion.
A few weeks ago they changed their username to my username +g after I argued with them in some comment section. I found this really creepy and looked for a way to block them (because what kind of behavior is that??) and couldn’t find any. If Kinja is going to do zero moderation they need to at least add a block…
No hate to Kacey or her interior decorator but those “vintage figure drawings” look like someone sifted through the trash outside a community college 100 level drawing class.
While I’m opposed to the death penalty in any case I’m confused why it is imposed on so many murder cases where evidence is murky and where there is no evidence of premeditation - which is generally agreed upon in law and public opinion to make a murder “worse”.
The plot synopsis on there seems to have been written by someone with as much comprehension of IVF and pregnancy as these wack jobs.
The thing that gets me is the pasta. How do you remember the cooking time? How do you know how much to use?
It never ceases to amaze me how severely right wingers manage to misuse terminology. You cannot, by definition, be an anarchist and also be waging a war to criminalize people’s medical care.
