This is an unhelpful misogynist comment.
This headline is incomprehensible.
If you hear isolated clips from her talking about her own experience and the derth of research on the clitoris she can sound very reasonable.
Surrogacy is a serious ethical quandary. It has all of the same issues with exploitation that sex work does with way higher health risks. A lot of countries have made paid surrogacy illegal because of this.
I thought it was bad when lawmakers (and occasionally journalists!) were calling teenagers under 18 “women” but my god extending that terminology to eleven year olds is....bleak.
It would obviously have to be a different box that needed to be checked for consent because unlike other organ donation the donation would delay burial, which would be of concern to their family.
I’d like to hear an explanation of how this would be any less ethical than other surrogacy.
It’s an excuse to not address the current state of medical billing. Curtailing women’s rights is another bird with the same stone.
Even with good intentions the effect of this is to continue diverting costs that shouldn’t be any individual’s responsibility onto individuals. Children are members of society, society should provide their basic needs.
This is really shady because prenatal care is healthcare for the pregnant person. Creating a financial obligation on fathers implies this care will be disclosed to them and that they are a stakeholder in it. This is like one or two steps away from giving men control of women’s medical decisions while pregnant.
Saying “just wait (it will get worse)” to someone who’s potentially in mental health crisis is NOT OKAY
Is this the daughter he berated over voicemail during his divorce (when she was a child)?
The only record I have is a “Happy Anniversary!” email from them saying my first purchase was a year before the email was sent. I only ever bought one pair because I found them really uncomfortable.
Yeah, the stats do actually show that women receive harsher punishments when they kill a partner than men when they kill a partner - though its rare for any domestic homicide to result in the death penalty.
My least favorite thing about the death penalty is that it forces the court system (and the public vicariously) to litigate which murderers are the *especially* bad ones who deserve this cruel and pretty rare punishment.
Reading this I was so ready to wallow in disdain for this director until I googled him and realized he directed one my favorite films of all time - The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. I guess now my take away is that a man can both make a terrible movie about a woman and a really insightful one…
They are terrified of the idea that trans people can actually transition and “pass” as their gender. They want to delay transition care as long as they can into adulthood because they want being trans to be as difficult and miserable an experience as possible.
I don’t think it is possible for a couple to have sextuplets and not hate each other within a couple of months. Having one kid sends a lot of couples to divorce. The level of stress with each additional twin must add exponentially to the stress of parenting.
My dad was one of ten and largely cared for by his grandmother and siblings. But his youngest sibling and oldest were 20 years apart. There’s a huge different between six kids of varying ages and varying degrees of needs and independence and six twins who are hitting each developmental milestone simultaneously.
