the giant 4 armed one 19 seconds in was made by the same people who did the Ironman suits for the movies and I believe the robots for Pacific Rim as well, so that one is amazing b/c they're pro's.
You're right, Miyazaki doesn't have to answer to anyone. But I agree with you, it's too bad we're probably never going to get another epic Miyazaki fairy tale.
Considering that it lists the setting as the 1920's (1920年代) immediately after that shot , I think it's probably the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923. Which doesn't really change your point, but it's slightly less horrific than a nuclear explosion.

I don't know about you but when I want to keep my 8 year old cousin busy I sit him down in front of Grave of Fireflies, since you know, Ghibli is always for kids.
Yesterday my sister (29) told me (i'm 21) that an anime can't be a "film", I had to remind her that a film can be 30 seconds longs as well as 2 hours, and remind her of Walt Disney (the man) first ambition about music and tales.
Naval warfare > Tank warfare
It had actually simulated, rather than animated, bipeds. One of my best gaming memories is to get a T-Rex to chase me across some ruins, trip on them and fall over. Then laughing at it while it tried to get back up.
No way... I can't believe someone else remembers Tresspasser!
Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who truly appreciated that game lol. Terrible controls (it was basically impossible to aim) but damn that game was ambitious. I'd love to see another attempt with today's tech and a slightly less clumsy method for the…
Yep, it's time to get rid of the most successful franchise in video game history. Pokemon too; the kids who loved the old games are adults now, so clearly the new ones won't sell. And Zelda? Heh, when was the last time anyone had something good to say about that piece of crap?
...................They need to kill off Maro, Donkey Kong, Zelda and all that same games they kept pushing out for so long. It's time for new IPs for the kids of this generation.
the game will be great, but your wrong about what the only problem is. The only problem is that nintendo's big E3 splash was another 2d donkey kong game. A game that will most likley be awesome, but if that is your centerpiece you are going to have difficulty generating excitement when the competition is displaying…
What is this stupid idea that a development team as talented as Retro can only work on one, small downloadable title at a time? I mean, have you all not noticed the tons and tons of exclusive 3ds content coming out, seemingly simultaneously? Just because they haven't announced a game doesn't mean they're not working…
I've never seen that. Thank you for posting.
It wasnt, but so what, it will sell bazillions as will Mario Kart 8 and Mario 3D something. Its sad, cause the Wii U will end up like the Wii, maybe with fewer sells, but little to none existent new worthy games.
What, the girl in her knickers from YouTube? I'm not quite sure what I'm reading here. It sounds like a joke that Mike gave up on halfway through but decided to post anyway...
