Exactly, this was a private home in a neighborhood a few minutes away from campus. it is unlikely any new student that was not already familiar with the area would even go down that street.

Exactly, most people from the Tidewater area are transplants due to the strong military presence. I grew up in Virginia Beach, went to ODU, and neither of my parents are from the south.

As another ODU graduate, sister of a current student and daughter of a tenured faculty member, I agree. I was one of the few local students. Most of them were from Northern Virginia if they were even from the south. I definitely wouldn't consider ODU a southern school.

This is sort of how the Greek life at ODU is though. This is just an independent act of douchebaggery. There is a decent amount of greek organizations on campus, but no official housing whatsoever and very few school-sponsored greek activities.
