I could have sung the lyrics, but I'm an Ashman fanatic. :) That said, you have a good point about this particular lyric. Not his very best, but it never bothered me either. And Ashman liked writing French lyrics, I think. :)

That video is one of my favorite things EVER. Someday I REALLY hope Disney releases the rest of it, if more exists. I could watch an hour of that coaching.
If you ever get a chance, listen to the German Hunchback musical. German Frollo is TERRIFYING, LOL. :)
The recent musical has a FANTASTIC cast recording. HIGHLY recommended. All the silly bits from the movie have been done better, and it's really good.
I think Home on the Range wins for the worst movie that still HAS good songs. It's a very mediocre movie, one I don't own and don't plan to buy, but some of the songs are beautiful. And yeah, if I were making this list the top 20 or so would ALL be Menken. :)
To be totally accurate, Alan Menken wrote the MUSIC. Glenn Slater is the genius responsible for the lyrics. Not to shortchange Menken, but credit where credit is due. :)
YES! I was going to say this, actually. Just scrolling through the coments first to make sure no one suggested it first. I am 1000% in favor of this idea!
