Yes, as I recall, they found some fetal pups that were preserved in alcohol for 140 years or so. As luck would have it, alcohol preserves the DNA, as opposed to formaldehyde.

I know, it's haunting.
That's another sad case of basically a deliberate extermination. I read somewhere (National Geographic I think), that someone has a plan to bring these back. If they can get enough DNA from museum samples, they can "make" a passenger pigeon, by swapping out the relevant genes with a close living relative.
I hope so too. To have a live, breeding population is a far better shot than trying to clone one from 140 year old DNA fragments.
I would love to see the thylacene (Tasmanian tiger) brought back. I've been fascinated with it since, as a kid, I saw the footage of the last living one, filmed in captivity in the 30s.
I have no idea why I typed "Smith." Farrell is the rightful target of my scorn in this case.
Meanwhile your neighbour was cursing "Why do the lights keep going off!!!"
I don't know why I typed "Will Smith" but man, I am paying for it in the comments!
I suffer from Will-slexia.
That was a movie that happened in my own mind.
I don't know why I always screw up Will Ferrell's name!
Oops! fast fingers.
oops. Yes. Yes I do.
Totally agree. That show had so many awesome concepts! I mean the effects were as cheezy as it gets, but the ideas never talked down to the audience.
I misread the article's headline as "Rumor: Dave Bautista Will Play The Villain Of The Highlander Robot!" I would totally watch that.
Wow. This cover has at least 3 kinds of awesome! If only they'd worked in a helicopter somehow...
I read, heard, or thought somewhere that indeed there was the intention of having him back, but of course the series got cancelled.
"We seek peaceful co-existence! Or maybe we don't! Ha! Ha! You'll never know!"
I look forward to meeting the empathetic, altruistic, and well adjusted individuals who will be raised in these rooms.
