I totally hear you because I do the same thing to myself. They are so cute and trusting and vulnerable at that age. All you want to do is protect and shelter them. Yet I read these types of stories and my mind recoils. How!? Who could hurt a kid like that?? My kids are young teens now, and you don't stop worrying…

From past stories like this, this type of death is about the worst you can inflict on a child. It's slow and horrific. The poor kid would never look "peaceful." It's a death I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. This is going to give me nightmares.
