It’s not the first time Honda partnered with GM. Honda needed diesels for the European market, so they offered their V6 to the Saturn VUE Redline in 2004-07 in exchange for diesels.

Who would have predicted that Honda need to partner with GM to take advantage of their technical and innovation lead in non-IC vehicles.

This doesn’t necessarily mean anything will come of it.

So true. Honda had the initial lead with hybrids and has been stepping on their collective dicks ever since. Remember the Honda Civic’s battery problems, and they ‘fixed’ it by making it so the car didn’t use hybrid mode? Smooth move, Honda.
