I’ve been looking a little higher end than Husky, mainly at used truck brands or something like a Homak RS Pro. Problem is I can’t go too wide, would love a 72" box but cannot fit it in my garage (where it needs to go anyway). I can go with about 60" but that’s an uncommon size, it’s usually 54 then 72. Current combo

I keep telling myself I don’t need a new tool box but the extra depth yours has over mine is a staggering improvement. My socket drawer is basically at capacity and organizers typically don’t fit well in the (usable) ~17" of depth in the drawer. The box is solid, and I even managed to free up a few drawers recently,

As soon as Lowes got the Craftsman contract the availability of Kobalt tools near me tanked.  I rarely had a problem with a Kobalt tool (a couple of broken sockets and one ill fitting wrench) but now I’m not even sure of their future

I’ve used the GW 120s and they are fine, but crazy expensive for what they are IMO.  The alternating pawl setup is pretty neat and means a more robust 60t wheel but.....they also seem like they might get finnicky with time.

One exception is my power tools which are all Makita LXT. I’ve lived the cheap cordless life, never again. Having power tools that work reliably is a must. My drill and driver are constantly on top of the box/bench. I drove 1400 deck screws in a day with my 1/4" driver, ran through 3 batteries, the motor was too hot

If it’s $10 from HF or $30 for a high quality tool I go high quality all day.  But when it’s $70 for a good set of wrenches or $400 for the top end set....I’m not spending $400 on a set of wrenches that get used a few times a month.

Backdrag is a huge thing for ratchets.  Also newer ones typically have higher tooth counts that require less swing in tight spaces to turn a fastener.  I just upgraded from 36t ratchets to 90t and there is much less “slop” when using them.  There is also less play in the drive end than the old ones but that can be

Original Kobalt sets were manufactured by Williams in the US and are regarded as pretty fantastic tools.  My chrome sockets are all US Kobalt, later Danaher made, but have been surprisingly good pieces that I will hold onto until they begin to fail.  The wrenches I replaced were Taiwan models and while the metric set

Nice Wera, I hear great things about them but am generally not a soft grip fan...they get super grimy in my hands.

I want to be a fancy tool person (very much want those Nepros ratchets) but the reality is it is not financially feasible for me to buy all top-end tools. Mid range quality is good enough for a DIY guy like me that even if I break them I can buy many times over for the price of high end. I have recently upgraded my

I’m not saying those are any better, I would not want any of them either.  Just saying that I wouldn’t pay money to have this in my driveway in 2020
