It means a lot when 20 year old wranglers with near 200k miles can fetch $8-10k

In an offroad setting an N/A V8 offers advantages over a turn turbo V6. From a power standpoint they may not be much different but a simpler engine is preferable when you’re far away from society. Turbo engines create more heat, have a lot more moving parts to break, have difficult packaging to work on, etc...
Honestly the only thing I wish my Gladiator had from the Bronco is the 2.7TT. The 3.6 is fine if largely unremarkable. I will say that an N/A V8 does offer pros over a turbo engine in an offroad application, but I do love that turbo pull
Nah, they didn’t.
Not many, which is why it costs so damn much in the first place
Jeep hasn’t had a V8 in its flagship offroader since the introduction of the YJ, and it hasn’t hurt sales. In fact over time they have only gotten stronger.
Fair, I knew you were disagreeing with his point (as do I) bit i missed what you were getting at.
Party box of tacos makes for a night of shameful binging for 1
Confirms my suspicion that taco bell is not food....no way real food lives 27 years without spoiling
Mud is a beast I have no interest in conquering. On my ‘05 TJR it would billy goat itself over damn near anything with the lockers engaged. I watched people struggle over rock gardens that took no effort on my part, just a dab of gas in 2nd 4L if anything. Hill descent is also a non issue but it takes some brain…
A sequential would be fun as hell but I doubt anyone wants to daily the noise of a dog box. I still think a true manual makes sense in a car like this. Obviously many people will disagree, I’m used to it by now. I just think engagement in the driving process is what makes cars like this great....chasing lap times…
This is only slightly less stupid looking than a type r, but still really ridiculously stupid looking.
I just bought a Jeep for more than the asking price of this thing. Sunny day? I’ll take the top off and drive on the beach.
If it were a proper Ferarri it would say so.
Yeah I addressed that point.
It is when I can see out of the car
This is the kind of automotive journalism I need in my life.
You think it’s just beginning?
I’m asking them to make one manual that would work with both engines. Same clutch, same trans box, maybe the need a different pilot diameter on the input shaft and bellhousing with different hole patterns but that would be it.
My Japanese econobox is more powerful than this Italian “exotic”, and I’m srue far more robust and easier to drive. I am fully aware that comparing eras is not a measure of anything really but this is just.....no thanks
