My jeep does auto start stop but I intentionally bought it without adaptive cruise or emergency braking (not sure if it’s offered with the package but it should have all the hardware). I guarantee auto start is harder on the starter and battery than emergency braking - the only time the latter will require anything

A base ‘06 was the 2.4L right?

If it was an axle problem they wouldn’t have the engine produce that much torque. The transmission only sends it where it needs to go.

Most wranglers don’t go offroad but all trims can be ordered with a manual.  Granted they have auto only in the 2.0 and 3.0D (both of which I disagree with), but you can buy a top trim Rubicon with a manual.  In fact I did that, and it’s better to drive because of it.

Depends on the type of off-roading. For pure desert running I would be much more inclined to a toyota, or anything IFS really.  But I would rather go slow over trails and be able to go pretty much anywhere, plus I like throwing the top back

Lol you right.  I was only looking at gladiators and it comes standard on those.  And mine works great

So they develop a new transmission for this application and don’t make it work with both engines?

You must not be an offroader

No but they can make one that does.  And I guarantee you if this is the same box they put in the mustangs there are thousands of ecoboost stangs out there running more tq through them

You can do that in any car with a manual though.  User error can break lots of things.  If I jam my transfer case into 4L at highway speeds I’m going to break a lot of shit too, doesn’t stop jeep from putting the lever right next to the shifter

You’re making a lot of assumptions. There’s a great chance they could use the same flywheel and clutch from the 2.3 mated to a different bellhousing.

It’s just in the fun of doing it.  Not everything needs to be the easiest way

There’s no reason they can’t have a manual on the 2.7. Everyone talks about too much torque but there are manuals on vipers, corvettes, mustang GTs, and big fucking diesel trucks so I don’t want to hear how hard it is to make one that will work.

They’re great*

I cannot roll my eyes hard enough at all of that Corolla release, maximizing the inherent potential of my vision system by staring directly back into my brain.

We’ve established I have no idea what I’m talking about and I’m going to stick with cars from now on

Autobraking works fine with traditional manuals since the braking system has nothing to do with the transmission. Mazda, at the very least, offers automatic emergency braking with a manual transmission.

Tacomas don’t fit me (physically, the seating position is all wrong for me) but I do really like them. What I like more is a Jeep though. So I bought a jeep truck which is all at once fun and stupid and I love it and I’m a little worried that I spent way too much on it, but NBD because the world is ending soon right?

Clearly I was thinking of a different plane.
