My uncle almost got killed in Phoenix in a very similar manner. It was 10 years ago and he still ain't right....

Convergence of stupidity equals one damp Mustang. Everyone's at fault here.

I think this qualifies him for the Lifetime Hoonchievement Award.

I think I know what happened, at least on the Mustang....Freddy Fatfinger at the dealer lowered the reserve to below the highest current bid. If I recall, eBay automatically resets the reserve/BIN to $1 over the highest bid in such cases.

@zsvdkhnorc hates when his screen name gets outdated: Yeah, the Caddy has a ridiculous belt setup. The PS/AC combo is disaster in the making, as I proved, and the alternator/smog pump pairing is just as bad. That setup held into the early 90s, I think....no wonder GM went tits up....

@zsvdkhnorc hates when his screen name gets outdated: I still don't know how I managed not to kill myself or have to pry the hood ornament out of some unsuspecting bus passenger's forehead. Right after that it went straight to the mechanic for new belts, PS pump and A/C compressor (which is what froze, snapping the

Taking a corner in my '75 Eldorado at the exact moment the power steering belt gave out. Suddenly I was in a 5000lbs paperweight headed straight into the side of a bus. I had to slam on the brakes, let all the traffic pass by and drive to the opposite side of the street to get it off the road....

So, let me get this straight...in amateur racing two amateurs made mistakes and someone got hurt. This is worthy of a lifetime ban? You have to be kidding me....and if you aren't, it's a pretty sad commentary that LeMons (as an organization and its participants) has become exactly like the big time racing world its

You have to be kidding....this car wasn't worth $1900 when it was 5 years old, let alone when it's 25 years old. Get out the butane torch....

Keith Olbermann used to be the local sports guy on the Los Angeles CBS affiliate and I can therefore never take anything he says seriously unless it's about Kurt Rambis or Steve Sax.

That was surprisingly unsatisfying.

Doh....I would have brought the Caddy up there in a heartbeat to see what's left in that 500.

I was going to say Nice Price until I saw it from the back...I'll take my $18k and get a used Z4.

I wonder how many lot jockeys hooned that thing around before the new owner picked it up?

Ha....my first car was a 94 Escort wagon...I had to fight the bitches off in high school....

Try doing this in a convertible that already has a huge blind spot. Not so much....if I don't see at least the edge of my rear fender I could lose a bus in there. I'm looking over my shoulder whether I like it or not....

I remember buying my last car and the bank wasn't giving loans for Kias or Hyundais.
