Hi Jezzies,
Hi Jezzies,
You know why.
This is unhelpful framing: “Left untreated, they will tear a person’s organs, causing massive hemorrhaging that will in all likelihood kill both parent and child.”
I somehow skipped the word “anti-” while reading this the first time and thought Deadspin was taking a wild editorial right turn.
Increasing by 42% is not doubling. Increasing by an even 50% is not doubling either. To double something, you increase it by 100%.
Headline inaccurate. Nearly double 844 would be in the neighborhood of 1800, not 1200 which is of course half of what the hed says. Maybe up by nearly 50 per cent. Horrifying story. Thank you.
Pretty sure the only place where a 42% increase = “nearly doubled” is in Clickbait Town. Is that where we are?
I feel like you could’ve helped progress the process of not tying everything Osaka does back to that moment by not using the entire final paragraph of this article to tie Osaka’s actions in this unrelated match that didn’t even feature Williams back to that moment.
I’m not entirely sure why I read Rich’s articles anymore, because each and every time I walk (click?) away thinking “wow, what a shitty, sneering, facile, frankly somewhat boring take, which cloaks itself in the trappings of ‘queer radicalism’ to promote the kind of bullying, high school clique assholery that is such…
The average life expectancy of an NFL player is in the low 50s, while the average life expectancy for American men is in the mid 70s. So you’re giving up roughly a third of your life to entertain us. While the Romans made people fight to the death for their entertainment, we only make you give up a third of your life…
There’s no genetic or evolutionary reason for boys to prefer cars (which didn’t exist until maybe a century or so ago). Your son - like many children - likes cars because they’re an object he sees a lot in his world that he’s trying to figure out, and they make an interesting noise. And, of course, he lives in a…
My whole issue with the anti-Olympics movements, including NOlympics LA, is that they fail to address why the Olympics should be held: because 1) The public enjoys them and 2) sports that never see daylight otherwise are showcased. Sports like fencing are only as prominent as they are (read: not very), because of that…
The thing is, the Fukushima point works both ways. As you say, Fukushima Prefecture is big, and many parts of it were not evacuated, like the area around the stadium. But at the same time, they ARE affected by association with the name Fukushima, one synonymous with disaster.
I’m with Okspace on this one. My family is very guarded, and you don’t bring strangers to our weddings / funerals. As I was reading your post, I couldn’t get past that he’s never met these people.
It would be a whole other story if your boyfriend had already been introduced and clicked with the family.
I just a screenplay for How to Avoid Huge Ships. It’s a hard sci-fi murder mystery comedy.
