There’s a very specific workflow that comes with using the volume- a lot of pre-visualization and blocking has to be done to get the realtime environments up and running for the shoot. And so that limits the degree to which on set improvisation is possible. You want to change up the dialog, no problem. You want to

I hope that the critical success of Andor season 1, and hopefully the economic success of Andor season 2 paves the way back for RJ. Andor shows you can successfully carve out new storytelling niches in a storied IP franchise.  Its not a zero sum game. Star Wars with both Mando and Ando is better than Star Wars with

Marketing move, I speculate.

Pride comes before the fall, as they say, and boy has she fallen.

My theory is that Christina is in a park, but here the humans (and select hosts that Halores wants to torture) are the attractions while the host are the patrons/guests.

Host MIB is the ultimate throwback to the original movie. I’m all here for it.

Almost every entry in phase 4 could have done with another iteration on the script, a few more takes on the performances, and several more iterations on the CGI.

Brother Dawn is left-handed, I noticed from a breakfast scene where he initially reaches out to a goblet with his left, before quickly switching hands.

There was a first This is Us?

The collective gasp of the partiers when they heard Frigga was on her way was my favorite part. Nobody messes with Frigga.

Excellent column as always, Tom! We’re almost up to present day with Popcorn Champs, what’s next? I’d love your take on the history of cinematic Sci-Fi. Any chance of a Sci-Fi or Sci/Fan film history column?
