Unpopular (?) opinion — I would rather have a Mustang II than about 90% of the Mustangs that came before it.

I’ve driven both. the 64 when it was 10 years old and the II when it was new.
I realize Mustang aficionados often berate the Mustang II as “Not a real Mustang” but realistically speaking it was a better car than the 64 1/2 Mustang. It handled better, rode better, was quieter, got better fuel economy, and was more comfortable. Was it a muscle car? No. But then again, neither was the original…
On the bright side, there will be no beatings unlike United.
NP because it’s super clean. You could DD this car without worrying about all of the finicky performance parts that it’s more capable siblings enjoyed. Who doesn’t want to relive the days when heavy coupes that drove like family sedans were da bomb?
I think the false narrative is that Tesla is far ahead on EVs. It’s simply not. EVs are not difficult. EVs are difficult to make profitably - so no one else is really doing it. And Tesla isn’t really doing it either. Tesla has no special technology. You can do the math yourself on the EPA range - Tesla simply lies…
Ahh yes, the Ford Pinto approach. It’s literally cheaper to pay off families of the dead than to rectify the issue.
In my opinion, that’s really more a product of Ford being publicly traded on the stock market than a product of the “American way” of doing business.
There are many American companies who believe in quality and doing it right the first time.
Even Ford did at one time ... but their shareholders have pressured them over…
Trying to save a buck by not simply using the excellent Tremec TR-6060 will end up costing them much more by the time this is over.
I’ve certainly seen quite a few cars go way over market in the past 6 weeks on BaT because an auction has turned into a dick swinging competition. Ridiculous.
Freedom means being willing to die desperately gasping for air so the stock market can go up another half percent.
“We’ve come to the point where American business expects all profit to be privatized and all risk to be socialized.”
America is already a socialist country - but only for the wealthy. Everyone else gets rugged free market capitalism.
1st Gear: You get a bailout! You get a bailout! Everybody gets a bailout!!
BaT shit crazy pricing.
Yeah pretty much exactly this. What happens when you try to design one plane that will replace the F-16, A-10, Harrier, and F-18, all of which have very different use cases? You get something very expensive that’s at BEST mediocre at all of their jobs.
Warning: politics, off topic
For the same money as this program we could eliminate every cent of student loan debt in America (that’s 44 million loans).
